Takaki Yazawa: “The recording took place in a reverberant church, and the performance progressed slowly, as if to ascertain the resonance of each and every note. This is a philosophical investigation into the true nature of the marimba as an instrument… Each and every note dissolves the styles and eras of each composer, and one is seized with the sensation of entering the world of Nanshu paintings depicting the ideas of Laozi and Zhuangzi. It will be interesting to see what Naizhi’s future steps will be like.”
